Every month at Uride, we look for ways to give back to the communities we serve. This April, we dedicated our Good Deed initiative to one of the most important acts of civic engagement: voting.
On April 28, 2025, Canadians across the country headed to the polls to cast their vote—and we wanted to do our part to make sure getting there wasn’t a challenge. That’s why we offered free rides (up to $10) to polling stations in every Uride city, helping people exercise their right to vote safely and affordably.
Removing Barriers, One Ride at a Time
We know that transportation can be a barrier, especially for individuals who don’t drive, have limited mobility, or face financial challenges. In many communities, access to reliable transit isn’t always a guarantee—and that shouldn’t stand in the way of participating in our democracy.
By providing free rides to the polls, our goal was simple: make it easier for people to show up and make their voices heard.
Whether it was someone heading to vote for the very first time or someone who wouldn’t have been able to get there otherwise, we wanted to be part of the journey.
A Community That Shows Up
We were overwhelmed by the response. Riders didn’t just use the codes—they shared them. Across social media, we saw screenshots of our emails and push notifications being posted, stories being told, and gratitude being expressed.
People were tagging friends, spreading the word, and encouraging others to take advantage of the offer. Many thanked Uride for making voting more accessible and removing one more stress from an already busy day.
This kind of organic support reminded us of something important: when a community feels supported, it pays it forward.
And the support didn’t stop there—news outlets across the country took notice too:
North Bay: Discounted Uride trips aim to boost voter turnout in North Bay – BayToday

Sault Ste. Marie: Sault voters getting free Uride trips to the polls – SooToday

We’re incredibly grateful for the recognition and proud to be part of something bigger than just rides—we’re helping people participate in their communities.
Driving Change, One Ride at a Time
At Uride, we’re proud to be more than just a transportation service. We’re a part of each city we serve, and we believe in using our platform to drive meaningful change—whether it’s getting someone home safe, supporting local causes, or making it easier to vote.
April’s Good Deed was a reminder that small actions—like covering the cost of a ride—can have a big impact. And we’re just getting started.
Until next month,
The Uride Team 🚗
