On Tuesday, June 24, Uride launched a one-day initiative to turn everyday trips into real-world impact. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., every ride taken helped support reforestation efforts across Canada — and the response was incredible.
Thanks to every single rider who took a trip that day, more than 5,000 trees are now being planted to help restore wildfire-affected areas.
Why It Matters
Canada is facing one of the worst wildfire seasons on record. Millions of hectares of forest have been lost, entire ecosystems destroyed, and communities left grappling with smoke, displacement, and long-term recovery.
But the damage doesn’t stop there - wildfires also release massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere, accelerating climate change and increasing the risk of future fires. It's a vicious cycle.
That’s where reforestation comes in. Planting trees isn’t just about bringing back the green - it’s about restoring balance. Trees absorb carbon, rebuild soil health, provide shelter for wildlife, and protect watersheds. They are one of the most powerful tools we have to repair our planet.
At Uride, we believe that small actions can lead to big change. We also believe that the communities we serve should benefit from more than just rides. That’s why this campaign mattered - because it turned something as simple as booking a ride into an act of restoration.
This wasn’t just a campaign about numbers. It was about solidarity - with nature, with each other, and with the places we call home.
How It Worked
📅 Tuesday, June 24 – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Every ride taken counted toward our tree-planting initiative.
Who’s Behind the Trees?
The trees are being planted through a donation to Flash Forest, a Canadian reforestation organization that uses drone-powered technology to accelerate large-scale planting efforts.
“Thank you again for your support! Uride’s funds will go specifically to restore burn scars in tandem with the Ouje-Bougoumou Cree First Nation at Assinica National Reserve – we’re planting as we speak.” — Joëlle Lerner, Director of Business Development, Flash Forest
As a tech company with a deep commitment to community, Uride is proud to support Flash Forest’s groundbreaking work and play a small part in reimagining what reforestation can look like.
Thank You
To every rider who booked a ride that day and every driver — thank you. Your trip helped restore forests, rebuild biodiversity, and make Canada a little greener.
Together, we planted the seeds for a better future. 🌱
